Explore How verification works Become a host

Every "Hakikisho verified" listing has been checked in person

We don't just take a host's word for it. Here's exactly what our team does before a listing earns the verified badge โ€” and what it means for you as a guest.

Hakikisho verified
The process

From listing submitted to badge awarded

01
๐Ÿ

Host submits the listing

A host adds their property with photos, pricing, amenities and location. At this stage the listing is live but marked unverified.

02
๐Ÿชช

We confirm the host's identity

Before any site visit, we verify the host is who they say they are and has the right to list the property โ€” whether they own it or manage it.

03
๐Ÿ“ท

We visit and inspect in person

A Manzo team member visits the property, checks it matches the listing photos and description, and confirms the amenities listed actually exist.

04
โœ…

The listing earns the Hakikisho badge

Once everything checks out, the listing is marked "Hakikisho verified" with the date, so guests can see exactly how recent the inspection was.

05
๐Ÿ›๏ธ

You book directly with the host

No middleman, no booking fees. You message the host on WhatsApp, confirm your dates, and book โ€” Manzo just handles the discovery and trust layer.

What we actually check

Four things every inspection covers

๐Ÿชช

Identity & ownership

Confirming the host is real and has legal standing to rent out the property.

๐Ÿ“ธ

Photo accuracy

Making sure listing photos genuinely represent the space โ€” no bait-and-switch.

๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ

Amenities

Checking that Wi-Fi, parking, pools, and other listed amenities actually exist and work.

๐Ÿ“

Location accuracy

Verifying the neighborhood and address match what's shown in the listing.

๐Ÿงน

Condition & cleanliness

A basic check that the property is in the state a guest would reasonably expect.

๐Ÿ”

Safety basics

Looking for functioning locks, safe access, and no obvious safety red flags.

What the badge means when you see it

"Hakikisho" means "assurance" โ€” when you see this badge on a listing, it means our team has physically visited that property and confirmed the details are accurate. It's not a self-reported claim from the host; it's independently checked by Manzo.

What about listings that aren't verified yet?

New listings start out unverified while they wait for a site visit โ€” this doesn't mean something is wrong with them. If you're considering an unverified listing, we recommend confirming details directly with the host on WhatsApp before making any payment.
